On-Call Clean Up Program

Residents of single-family homes and multi-plexes (2-8 units) have the opportunity to schedule, at their convenience, the discard of up to 2-cubic yards of garbage and recyclable materials, and up to three bulky items. This service is available once per 12-month period (not calendar year) at no charge. You can schedule an additional pick-up for a charge. Contact us or login to your account to schedule your Clean Up date. Scheduling at least a month in advance is suggested. Please note that to be considered eligible for this service, customers must have paid for at least one quarter of service (in addition to the required deposit) and have an account that is current. Also, customer must subscribe to a minimum of 20 gallons of garbage service.

On Call Clean Up Items

On-Call Clean Up Collection Procedure:

A 2-cubic yard bin will be delivered on your regular service day and removed one week later. Please keep it secure  to prevent illegal dumping.

  1. Place the bin at the curb at 6:00 a.m. one week after delivery (on your regularly scheduled collection day).
  2. Set out up to three bulky items and properly contained latex paint next to the bin.
  3. Move vehicles away from the bin for access.

Please Follow These Guidelines:

Bulky ItemsBulky Items: Set out up to three items next to the bin. Acceptable items include: mattresses,
furniture, appliances, and more. Refrigerator or freezer doors must be removed or taped shut.
Once of your bulky items can be electronic waste. Computers, printers, televisions, microwaves,
and similar items are acceptable.
TiresTires: Set out up to four unmounted car tires next to bin.
Latex PaintLatex Paint: Place next to the bin, not in the gutter. Must be in tightly-sealed original container.

Recycling and Organic Carts

PLEASE NOTE…

Scrap Metal: Items (less than 30lbs.) can also be placed in your blue recyclables cart.
Yard Trimmings: Grass clippings, leaves, and small branches, less than 6″ in diameter belong in the green organics cart.

 

Unacceptable Materials:

The following items will NOT be collected as part of your clean up services:

  • Loose materials placed outside the bin (except the Bulky items listed above).
  • Any single item over 150 pounds.
  • Wood longer than four feet.
  • Automobile parts (except tires).
  • Yard waste and landscaping materials including sod and dirt.
  • Cement, rock, brick, drywall, toilets, sinks, windows, and other construction or landscaping materials.

 

No Hazardous Waste

PLEASE NO HAZARDOUS WASTE.

Household hazardous waste (HHW), such as: auto fluids, pesticides, fluorescent lamps, batteries, sharps, unwanted medications, pressurized tanks, radioactive materials, poisonous, or toxic materials are not accepted in any Alameda County Industries collection carts or bins. Got Extra?

Additional garbage, bulky or e-waste items can be collected for a charge. A special type of collection bin is required for construction, demolition, and landscaping materials. Contact us for more information

 

Reuse, Recycle or Donate First

The contents of your bin will be disposed of in the landfill. Before throwing items in the bin, consider reusing, donating or recycling them as an alternative.
