Alameda County Industries has operated in San Leandro since 1992. In February 2000, ACI was awarded an exclusive franchise by the City of San Leandro to provide all solid waste, recycling, and greenwaste services to residents and businesses. With tremendous City support, ACI implemented the food scrap recycling program in December of 2003. ACI is striving to reach Alameda County's goal of diverting 75% of waste from landfills by the year 2010; with continued support and participation by the community, we believe we can do it!
