San Leandro residents of single-family homes and multi-family complexes,
with 4 units or less, can schedule the removal of up to 2-cubic
yards of solid waste and recyclable materials once per 12-month
period (not calendar year) at no charge. Available only for accounts
in good standing, and customer must subscribe to a minimum of 20
gallons of garbage service. You can schedule an additional pick-up

To be considered eligible for this service, customers must have
paid for at least one quarter of service and have an account that

Before
you set your materials out for collection, please reuse,
recycle, or donate them. Here are some sources for further
information about donation and reuse:
Goodwill Industries – www.eastbaygoodwill.org
Salvation Army – www.salvationarmyusa.org or
call 1-800-95-TRUCK to schedule a pick-up.
Recyclable and compostable items should be placed in
your blue and green carts (respectively) for regular
collection. Items collected in the 2-cubic yard cleanup
container will not be recycled. |

- A 2-Cubic Yard
Container: Fill this container with
non-recyclable materials to top water level
(lid must fully close). Container is delivered
on your regular service day and is removed
one week later.
- Bulky Items: In
addition to the above, you may set out up to
3 bulky items for collection including, but
not limited to any appliances or pieces of
furniture too large to place in a 2-cubic yard
container.
- Passenger Tires: Place
up to 4 unmounted passenger tires next to the
2-cubic yard container.

Unacceptable
Materials:
- Any single item over
150 pounds– No
single item that cannot be handled by two people
will be accepted.
- Wood longer than 4 feet
- Automobile parts
- Appliances that contain
freon such as
refrigerators or air conditioners.
- Electronic Scrap such
as televisions or computers.
- Greenwaste – Please
use the weekly greenwaste pick-up service at no
extra charge.
- Construction and demolition
materials and
materials such as rocks, dirt, cement, and sod.
- Boxes or bags with miscellaneous
loose materials placed outside the container will
not be accepted

- Household hazardous waste such
as paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers,
fluorescent bulbs, batteries, items containing
mercury and pool chemicals, etc. Please contact
the Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Program
at 1-800-606 6606 for a list of proper disposal
facilities and information.

If
any unacceptable material is found curbside or in the
container, it will be tagged and placed onto your property.
It is the resident’s responsibility to arrange
for proper disposal. |
